Jim is a partner at Frazer Ryan Goldberg & Arnold LLP, practicing mental health and juvenile law and serving the developmentally disabled, the mentally ill, and the elderly. He joined the firm after retiring from the Arizona Superior Court in Maricopa County with over 26 years of service as a Judge and Commissioner. Prior to his appointment to the bench, Jim served as counsel for the State Compensation Fund and was an associate in the law firm of Murphy Posner and Franks.
Throughout his Judicial Career, Judge McDougall focused his energy in the field of serving children and families. He served a total of 12 years on the Juvenile Court assignment and was the Presiding Judge of the Juvenile Court in Maricopa County from 1989 to 1995. Since retiring from the bench, he has devoted much of his time to helping people resolve their disputes outside the courtroom through mediation, arbitration, and other alternatives to litigation. In addition to practicing law, Jim will continue to have an active mediation and arbitration practice.
